I set up my coral QT tank today. I added dry rocks and new water — it’s a brand new system.

The phosphates were 0, so I got a calculator and dosed it up. In fact, I dosed a little extra because I knew the rocks needed to get saturated.

I enthusiastically said out loud, “Now you’re enriched with P!”

I had to do a double take. What did I just say? Come again? Pardon???

I’ve always thought Phosphorus should have the symbol Ph not P. Palladium can have P and then Platinum should always have been Pl. Also whoever gave Proctactinium Pa is insane.

Also @Miami Reef I have a chemistry problem for you. Can Phosphorus form a bond with the hydroperoxide ion? And if so what would the molecular formula be?
If P is this thread, then will POOH be the next one?

The only time I talk to my tank is when it's giving me a hard time, and usually the letter P is nowhere to be seen.
I've said words that don't even make sense sometimes

I'm guessing the fish in your tank looked at you with confusion, haha

My favorite is Tropic Marine trace supplement K+ which does not contain any of the element K+. lol
