PO4 not getting down

be careful when using GFO. id start by adding a small amount into a media bag and throw it in the sump somewhere with flow. do your normal po4 tests to see the change. increase your dose little by little. if you dont see a change within a couple of wks. id try using a reactor and again, start out w/ small amount of GFO as well.
Already using a nyos torque

I am thinking its doing is thing but i Just dont get Down to where i want it to be or let it stay there , even with weekly gfo changes tbh
You should change it daily, small amount and it will come down.

Just my opinion but PO4 is not your issue. Corals require PO4 to grow and I don’t do anything when PO4 is below 0.5ppm.
For example my tank runs 0.15-0.35 and corals look happy:

Maybe get your Alk to 8.5dKH range and try to keep it stable or try to dose trace element mix like TM A and K elements.
Too much coral food can also cause issues…

Good luck,

For me im Always in the .15 - 0.30 range also , cant get lower, if i dont maintain with carbon dosing and gfo it wil go far over 1.0

Hmmmm…. So what are you adding to the tank?
PO4 is related to additive’s like fish food, coral food, liquid PO4 additives etc…

Do you use skimmer?

For example on my tank the only filtration I use is skimmer and GAC (granular activated carbon) 2 tablespoons in a mesh bag changed 50% every 2 weeks. Once corals start to grow they consume lot of PO4…

not overloaded with fish / daily feeding alterning pellet/frozen food's once or twice a Day.
Recently started dosing seachem reef plus twice a week .
not realy target feeding corals anymore .
Do you use skimmer?
yes i do , but its not skimming much since the filter Roler. My cup isnt full even after week's .

I use also activated carbon . I dont yet have the biggest colony's of corals maybe thats why no uptake of po4 .

Is my reasoning correct?
Can phosphate-binding media like GFO ever be truly effective without using a protein skimmer?
If I use GFO without a skimmer, does the phosphate stay in the water?
How should I look at this from a practical perspective?
No you are mixing up carbon dosing and GFO, carbon dosing basically allows the po4 to be eaten by the bacteria in the tank, then the skimmer would remove the bacteria whereby also removing the po4, corals also eat the bacteria which also lowers the po4 in the water, GFO as you say will blind the po4 which removes the po4 from the water directly, a skimmer is not needed as the GFO has locked the po4 out of the water.
