I wish. $600 a week on top of unemployment? Please.... I did get 56 hours in this week. That might be equivalent to working zero hours like the non-essential folk are doing.

My partner and I own 2 spas. Ordered to close...everyone who works for us is an independent contractor, and North Carolina has said it won’t be until April 25th that the “forms” will be available for IC’s to file for unemployment.

Don't know. I have never had to apply for it. Don't even know where to. I'll Google stuff up now for future reference.

Definitely look into it ASAP I think you can do everything online my wife did everything for me but if I remember correctly Medicaid took affect the day that my work insurance disappeared. They should back it 60 to 90 days as well for any pre-existing. But the system is going to be overloaded get on it as soon as you can. Good luck there’s good programs to help you just have to know how to find them

I’m working from home and on reduced hours. The ironic part is that I’m actually keeping more money at home working part time than when I was working full time. I’m not paying daycare (which is huge), canceled my parking at work, my gym membership is canceled since it’s closed, I took the insurance off of one of our two vehicles, and I’m not spending money on gas or restaurants. Strangely, I’m actually putting money into savings for the first time in a long time because of all this.

Own my own business on my home property so a short stroll and to work. Governor's office sent out proclamation that clearly list my business as essential then someone in his office sent a memorandum that says the complete opposite. Politicians have a complicated relationship with both written and spoken English leaving the rest of us scratching our heads! So I wake up every day fearful to work or not work. My suppliers and customers are listed as essential so I am hoping that extends to us. For now we work as a two man crew and try to limit our deliveries to customers to a two or three week cycle. If either one of us gets a sniffle we will stay away until we are right as rain. Wear protective masks and gloves and request customers remain in separate room as we install. Wipe down counters and door handles with disinfectant wipes as we leave. Not sure what else to do at this time until we get clarification from Governor. Idaho has no restrictions on construction so we are able to work on our contracts there with no questions. Washington is more about Seattle and I-5 corridor and ignores the needs of us border dwellers...that is a good thing!

I’m out of work but not necessarily laid off. Will miss 3-4 months of pay at least. Not happy about that. Fortunately I have some money to fall back on. And still buying coral stuff so I can’t really complain.

still working here ... metals production supply with big emphasis on aerospace (boeing, space x, etc).

my company’s seattle branch is hurting real bad with boeing shutting down. i’m on the int’l side, mostly pacific rim. work is crazy busy.

march was fairly okay but second quarter expected to see a significant drop (mostly domestic side). my managers are optimistic that domestic aerospace will bounce back fairly quickly and the economy too. i hope they’re right.

I'm really surprised at the numbers, least in this small demographic. I would think the way the national news reports it, there would have been way more laid off people around here.

What kind of food? I work for a beef slaughter/packing plant and we have been ramping up production the last month. On the way home from work yesterday the company passed out half ribeye rolls (about 3,600 of them) to everyone that worked the day. (A full roll is right around 15 lbs.) Mid May they are giving every employee a $600 bonus (hazard pay).

I’m thinking we might start slowing down in the next couple weeks. With all of the restaurants being closed or slow the demand isn’t going to be there once the stores get stocked.

Glad to not be laid off.

Can you elaborate on this because national average is less than the 17.5% that is being report here on r2r.
