Pondering dosing nitrates

The problem with water changes is you can only do so much so fast .
Example: it is very unhealthy for the aquarium to do a 100% water change, or to do several 25% water changes in succession.
Also you have to match alkalinity and other parameters on a big water change to . With off the shelf salt mixes good luck with that .
Good luck to you, that sucks that you lost so much .

Instead of doseing nitrates why not add some fish? Like green cromis? They are nice and cheap . Or reduce skimming and lose the GFO or phosguard if you’re useing them. The ammonia from the fish is more useful to the coral than nitrates. You don’t need much .

I am working on adding more fish. Only one fish store around and they only order fish every couple weeks and the last time their supplier didnt have what we were looking for. No GFO or phosguard in use, no macro algaes in sump.
