the tang has ick. Is there any treatment that will not hurt the reef. I don’t have a quarantine tank and I read the remedies are not good for the corals. Is that all corals or just sps. I can’t catch the fish he goes in the reef.

Please advise. I have some dang Xenia’s, mushrooms, polyps, trumpets, Favia, giant toadstool leather, cinnamon polyps.

No reef safe treatments are available, you can try to catch him with a fish trap or wait until dark and surprise him with a flashlight. Do you have any pics so we can see how bad it is?

If it's Ich I think you can use the hyposalinty method. I would look that up, but low salanity high temps to be general. This is the best site for info someone who knows way more than I do will help.

If I only had $1 everytime I’ve seen this fish sick in a tank...soo sensitive, good luck!

Either way he needs to go into copper in a QT tank ASAP. Shoot for 2.0ppm with cheleted copper and ramp up from a predosed QT of 1.0ppm over 48 hours. All fish will need to go into QT for treatment and leave the DT fallow for 76 days. I think that’s a really bad case of ich because of the size of the spots.

Back to this issue; do you think a freshwater dip would be a good idea if it is possibly velvet? Especially since there isn't a qt available immediately

A FW dip could buy him time if it is velvet but tbh the Tang will be going back into a tank with a huge parasitic load.
