I accidentally overdosed my Prazipro. I was supposed to dose 4 teaspoons… I did 4 tablespoons. I really quick did a 20% water change. Also am running carbon and turned the lights off. Is there anything else I can do? I have some water mixing up for another water change here soon. Should that do the trick? Everything seems to be ok so far, my fire shrimp was acting weird though, running around everywhere when he usually stays under his fish cleaning station.

Just keep doing water changes and keep up with the carbon

Change 5-8 gals a day and add carbon

increase oxygenation. You can also use a calculator (there are many available) that can tell you how much water to change based on the chemical involved - as well as the rate it's being added. Since I don't know the mg in each tablespoon or teaspoon - and don't know whether you used official teaspoon measures or just a spoon, etc - more information is needed.

I would think this one might help: https://www.hamzasreef.com/Contents/Calculators/EffectOfWaterChanges.php

So was the 4 teaspoon dose a full dose? If so, then you overdosed by a factor of 3x That means you need to do a total water exchange of 2/3'd of the water (66%). Carbon is not very effective at removing prazi, and the real issue is the solvent and carbon doesn't remove that much if at all.

Prazi itself can be dosed up to double the normal amount, but that solvent in Prazipro is going to get broken down by bacteria if you don't remove it. That in turn sucks oxygen out of the water - I would put a strong air stone in the tank to help with that.

Thank you, I have great oxygenation going on so I have that covered. I think one last water change and I should be good. Thanks everyone for the help.

So far all I can see is all my mushrooms have shriveled up and lost all of their color. My rock flower anemone went from a vibrant bright orange to brown. My torches appear to not be happy but haven’t lost any color. I guess I’ll wait till the morning to see what’s going to make it and what’s not.

Well, everything seemed to be ok through the night. Nothing dead, everything open as usual. If anything the double water change seemed to help everything. Won’t make that mistake again… fingers crossed.
