Pump noise

I got a 9.5 pump in my sump and I was wondering what you guys use to reduce the vibration noise?

how bad is the noise ? is there anything you can put underneath to dampen the sound like padding . do you use this pump mainly for return .?

I have a Rio 1700 that can get noisy, I just spin it slightly or try and get it up off the bottom and it gets quieter.

Yes main return pump. I was getting some ideas on what people put underneath their pumps to dampen the noise. I can't suspend it its pretty heavy.

Maybe put a Poly Filter pad underneath it?

Plumb it with flexible PVC better known as spa flex and put a piece of rubber mat under it... Should
Cure all the noises..;)

+1 Troylee!! He is correct this fixed mine, but mine was not really bad to begin with just annoying.

I've had a few noisey pumps in the past and found that silicone hot pads work great.

I've also read that people use baggies with sand in them works, and some have suggested that using a piece of 1" dia. clear tubing cut in half and glued to the bottom of the pump makes very soft feet for the pump to sit on.

thanks guys i went and got a rubber mat used for bath tubs and it has suction cupson it. works great! im gonna switch to spa flex tube too when i get a new stand!!! thanks again!
