PVC glue inside the pipe

Building my water transfer system this weekend

Never glued pvc before

I have noticed that after I glue a joint the glue ooozes into the interior of the pipe

I have been reaching my finger in and whipping off the excess (again inside the pipe where water runs)

When it dries some of the purple residue can be seen inside the pipe?


Is this safe for my water?
Am I screwed?
