I got 2 RCDL and 2 MB bars. I played around some with various dimming combinations - even as far as 0% on both MB bars and the RCDL are still *fairly* blue. I ended up setting the RCDLs at about 75% and the MBs at about 50%. If you’re really wanting a more daylight look, he also has a “Tropic Sun” version. I bought mine before he released those but I wish I would have gotten a TS/MB combo. Still very very happy with everything though!

I assume you have seen the 3 (I think) different mounting options that come with the bars?

With and without a filter fwiw

Yep. 2 RCDL and 2 MB.

(No filter)

Correction!

1 MB, 3 RCDL!

I had originally ordered 2/2 but returned a MB for a 3rd RCDL because 2/2 was still too blue for my taste.
My only concern that I keep questioning is what combo of two 4' bars do I do? I have 3 off brand kessils that look super good so I was thinking double meso blues and using the kessils to even out the intense blue, or do I do 1 meso blue 1 reef crest. Only get one chance to make the right call.... What would you do?

I started with a 2/2 combo (RCDL and MB) but sent one MB back in exchange for a 3rd RCDL. The RCDL is still decently "blue" (although not nearly as "Windexy" as the MB. The photos I posted in the quoted posts are pretty representative. But like others have said, definitely reach out to Luca. Good dude.

Can someone tell me the true difference between the reef crest and tropical sun? I can’t find much info on it.

Also, anyone know or can measure the space from the edge of the last light bulb to the end of the light fixture? Is it 1”?

Tropic Sun is a true daylight "white" bar. Reef Crest Daylight has the whites from the Tropic Sun, combined with some of the blues from the Meso Blue.

So Tropic Sun is white white. Reef Crest is a blue-ish white. That make sense?

I’m wondering if the 47” light on my 48” long tank will have too much light spill or not.

On the pro version of the 3’ meso blue it’s 1”, I would assume all the other bars are the same, but a quick email to Luca will get you a definitive answer. Also, he has the spectrums listed a on his site, so you can see the difference between the 3 spectrums.
