but how is it companies conveniently keep your credit card info “on file” anymore without even asking?

Also why is so easy to opt in for a month to month subscription but hard as h3ll to opt out..I mean I had to ask my bank, PayPal and a lawyer to get GoDaddy to stop jacking my bank for $20/months even after deselecting autopay…

This crap is getting out of hand and Im afraid with the “deregulated ” business friendly trends about to come it will only get worse

this is creeping me out. like when i buy something at a store and when i get home i have a receipt for the item in my inbox! i know for a fact i never gave the store my email address nor have i ever gone on their website!

Your card data is recorded and kept on record/attached to your email or phone number universally.

Well guys, I got a reply today, and I feel like I must update this thread. I'm still not happy at all, I wish I was never tagged into that stupid contest thread.

Apparently, and according to the seller in question, they use some piece of software that when I went just one time and looked quickly at their website, it collects my personal data including my email address.

That is illegal, and totally unethical business practices, and I'm not happy at all that R2R is allowing a seller here that does this.

I'm sorry, I read the Times and other websites, and have never been signed up for their email.

CAN-SPAM IS the law that says you can't add someone to an email list without their permission.

I'm just shocked by all this. Very much making me reconsider my time (and money) spent here on R2R.

I just thought all of you should know.

Well now I know why my personal - non-reefing email keeps getting emails from vendors. SBB isn’t the only one. I have a personal email, one I use for all “tank related things”, and one for “other”.

This explains a lot and now that I am aware i ill likely stop using sites that use this type of software.
