Quieting an overflow box

How does everyone quiet their overflow box? I have a 75 gallon tank with an EShopps Elipse M over flow box running a Hygger 1060 GPH pump at 65%. Noisy as the water comes through the box's inlet...too much pump?

How low is the water in the box? Is the water cascading down a few inches making the noise? If I keep mine (different system) about an inch or two under the emerg pipe, it stays really quiet. Otherwise I can hear it.
