Radion users, what % do you run your lights at? I have mine at 50%, kind of scared to crank em up but wondering if it would be ok. The tank is 27" deep and lights are on top of glass tops.

I think Ecotech recommends a minimum of 8"-9" above the water.

When I first put my Radions over my tanks, I started at 40% and went up to 65% using the 4 week acclimation program.

And on both my tanks they are at 9" above the water.

I should also add that it really depends on what type of corals you are keeping.

I have a mixed reef, so pretty much everything. The lights are about 4" above the water.

First of take them of your glass, your radions need air circulation for the life of them.
Second, what kind of radions you have?
You mentioned the depth of your tank but what size of tank we talking here and how many radions you run?
In many cases radion users use the acclamation feature for the first three weeks after that you mess around a little more on the settings.
For the final settings on your schedule it all depends for what kind of look you prefer to view your tank.

I have 2 gen 3 pros on a standard 90 gallon tank 9" from the water. I had to start at 20% intensity. Over the past 6 months I'm up to 35%. (I'm taking it very slowly because I work on the road and only come home every 30 days or so). 50% intensity 4" from the water is a lot of light.

I completely forgot about the fan on the bottom of the fixture.
A sure way to shorten the life of the fixture by blocking air flow.

I have them supported on both sides so the fan is fine, my fans never come on because there isn't enough heat unless I crank em up to 100%. I have a 180 gallon, 6ft tank and 3 gen 3 pros on em. Here is a pic from when I first set it up with lights at 50%.

You can see the light beam In your water, by raising them up at least 10" you will have a better light spread.
Obvious you have some dead spots in your tank that coral won't be habby if you leave the units as they are.
Even if you run your units at 50% the fans still come on but they don't run on a 100% speed as they variable on temperature.

Those are way too low!
Hang them a good 10" off the water.
You're not doing your Radions or your coral any good with that setup.

That is what I was going to say. The fans are always on. I run my Gen 3 radion at 50%. It is 9" from the top of my tank which is open. No glass top.

Well any ideas how to mount them then? No one makes canopys for a bowfront like this, not even the manufacturer. Also the tank has a 2 inch ledge around the inside of the top so I cant clamp any mount flush against the glass from the inside. Lastly and most important, my wife is not having anything hanging from wire mounts from the ceiling. lol

There are several ways to mount them or make something to hang them.
You may not like going from the neat and clean look of them now, but you are going to ruin some darn expensive lights if you don't get them up off the glass top.

High Growth- 100% - 11 hours/day - used to be 12 but saw recommendation with updated software to not exceed 11 - 1 hour ramp up and 1 hour ramp down - and moon phase - hangs about 10" above water - 58 show - Gen1 with upgraded Gen2 fan

65% Radiant Color mode for 11 hours. 20" from water line to the sand bed, lamp is 8" over the water line.
