Kalkwasser is a possibility need to nail down numbers see which way I will go. Not crazy about adding it to ato so would drip it in or use doser which I’m on fence about as well. I may just be able to maintain alk steady and be good to go.
Super easy ratio based off of ca ppm consumption per day/week, whatever. And keeps pH up. Was the answer i was seeking. And i did the lazy ATO method, a drip method like pops (@Fudsey) has is the best delivery though, imho.

Good Evening my Salt friends, My new fathers day toys arrived!
Nyos test got mg and Hannah DKH colorimeter plus graduated cyclinder to calibrate the new dosing pumps.
Doing tests daily to track alk so far looks like .3 /.4 a day? Not sure what I should expect with current load corals and coralline.
Will keep an eye on it then get rolling on dose to keep at 9 steady.
Algae has slowed phosphates brought up to .1 they had bottomed out stalling nitrates left over from going down but last test showed them moving down a big with the elevated po4
WC tomorrow and hope to get doses calibrated and ready. Meant yo get pics today but was lazy and got a late tank start but I did make more bbq sauce and dry rub do I call it a win :p

Alrighty then! WC done gyres soaking and pics taken.
The good dinos seem to be mia but GHA is on the rise. Not to worried think we will have this beat back in another week or two.
One zoa melted away and another I had to tweeze some gha off tiny little guys but hanging in there. One toadstool ticked knocked it down again ;Facepalm Other one I crushed moving rocks recovering nicely tho. See some growth on few Zoas and sticks seem ok so overall feel ok about the tank. Here’s the photo bomb

Good Sunday morning friends, Over coffee thought about the past two years of reefing and all I’ve learned some of it the hard way ;) . My tank has had its share of troubles some say Murphy was a little tougher on me than others but I learned from each problem that came along.
Algae check I’m good at growing it and in the end getting rid of it. Dino’s x3 ,GHA , cyano, slime, and bubble have all been part of the reefing life.
Equipment failures check heaters ato lights pumps. Heaters and pumps had spares thanks to reading others threads :)
Death I’ve killed more than Cecil B Demille in his movies. Fish aggression / grouping/ timing of add, mystery deaths, not qt my coral bringing velvet to tank, and killing fish while cleaning the tank.
This hobby can tear your heart out but the rewards for staying the course learning and moving on are many. A slice of the ocean in your home , the pride of keeping that fish or coral labeled expert only online gives immense satisfaction and pride. Best of all a chance to meet folks and form friendships over a common loved hobby.
Just over two years in still trucking and looking forward to more to come.
Thanks all for the support here

Awesome progression and beautifully said Ray. What a ride its been and thanks for sharing every detail and bump openly. So many will learn from build threads as we have. The cage is a beaut my friend.

Now answer my texts so we can get the GREEN MONSTAH to its new home in these FTS's ;)

Look what just popped up on fb market ray..

The thing that started our friendship. Which escalated to tool belts swiftly.

I love that it lives on as another freebie to some reefer in need. That’s just what it’s all about right there. We all should have signed it on the bottom before passing it along would be kinda cool

Love seeing stories like that, really shows what most of the reefing community is all about. Something that's right up there with my favorite reasons to be in the hobby:D

Thanks it’s getting back on track . I’m terrible with the names but that one pretty sure is JF Red Hot Setosa.
