Would the Ora cherry red goniopora meet that suggestion?

IMO yes. I have a red and a green one I think the red one is the one you are talking about. The green one I dont remember the weird name they gave looks good under whites also. Anything that isnt a "glitter" I think would look fine under whites. Neither of the ones I have look to have much florescence under heavy blues.

I never tried that exact one. It won’t glow that neon color under whites, but it should still look fantastic.

Vendor pics heavily edit and saturate their photos, so not even my royal blues can replicate it IMO.

I think that’s edited. What do you guys think? I never saw that variant in real life.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good grabber tool or some such thing to grab small objects on the tank bottom?

The yellow tang must have pulled hard enough on the macroalgae rubber banded to a small rock to dislodge it and it’s now on the bottom, where I can barely reach it.

I use an 18" Hemostat. They make various sizes and shapes.
Has worked well over the years.

Depending on the source/vendor you choose you can ask them for a photo under whiter or more natural lighting if they can. I have found most willing to do so. Those that don't I don't shop there. Not out of spite but more of a personal choice.

Under dark blue

Under more whites. Hopefully the clownfish cameo gives a perspective on how white it is:

I have that coral and it does look like that under my Radion XR15 Blue in AB+. I tried to photograph it but it comes out more orange. They may have adjusted the sliders but I can attest to it looking like that in real life. It’s a beautiful contrast of color and movement.

This is the best pic I could get. It’s hard to do the color justice with an iPhone camera and orange filter.

It’s a little cloudy outside this morning but this is that cherry red goni in natural sunlight. It’s a standout coral in natural light. The WWC pic is definitely shot under blues (and maybe with some trick filters).

Nice gonis! I just don't have luck with them. Everything other LPS I have - Hammers, Torches, Duncans, Acans, Blastos are great.

Remote Tank Monitoring

As I mentioned in the first post of this thread, the ability of the tank to run on its own is important.

At the moment, there are two things that allow remote monitoring.

1. The temperature controls (both heating and cooling) involve multiple redundant INKBIRD controllers. Four of the six total are WiFi types and give me a temperature measure in two of the brutes (the return pump section where the heater is and the skimmer brute where the cooling coils are). Right now they range in reading from 77.6 to 78.2. A cheap digital thermometer reads about a degree higher in the system.

2. I have an Arlo security camera set up to allow streaming live video (including sound) from the tank any time I want to check. That video allows me to see power, lights and in tank flow are on, as well as seeing the fish do their thing. With sound I can typically hear that the return pump is working (from overflow sound). It was my opinion that gonis were nearly impossible to keep alive more than a year….however, that is old data of wild harvested gonis from Eastern Australia. Now the aquacultured, legacy Gonis from vendors like WWC are, IME, some of the easiest corals to keep.

ORA has a red Goni that’s only slightly different than the WWC one (ORA appears to have a touch of blue in the center of each polyp). ORA corals are usually bulletproof. ORA’s coral farm is basically the ocean under natural sunlight. They pull from a saltwater well and don’t use fancy lighting. There are no fancy-pants pampered corals in there—only the strong survive.

Unless this user has a fancy camera filter, this looks like a natural light shot of the ORA red goni:
