Thank you! I learn something new every day! Had no idea carbon did this!Carbon will remove the products these corals create to fight eachother. I am not sure what is in your filter is but my guess is carbon and some sponge and biomedia. Good carbon can last a month at a time

I haven't bought a light yet. Still fish only and in the planning stage. Thinking of getting a Noopsyche.lighting plays a big part in how they appear to us. do you run predominately blue? white? a combination?
they will appear color different under all three of those.
