1. Make sure skimmer cup is empty

Also for those following along, an update on the hair algae saga:
Was out last week and this is what i came home to:

I picked a bunch sunday and a little more monday and this is how far the clean up crew have been able to take it:

Focusing on an area at a time i have found gives the CUC a chance to focus in and give it a good clean after ive manually removed it. In the spots they have really knuckled down, it is clean and bare. Little by little it is getting better and better. (Aside from the cyano... but that is next on the list)

How long have you had the Scopas for?

Thank you! Those nems have been happy in that corner over 6 years now even after a re-scape. Except those ones in the isolation box that got voted off the island. They are in timeout until i hit the LFS.

The scopas Ive had now for about a year. Model citizen, it follows the bristletooth around all day like a lost puppydog.

No secrets, its all here on the build thread, for those inclined to look. I think the real secret isnt just one thing but the tank as a whole. One day maybe i will figure that out and not share ;)

Thanks for asking! Soso, everywhere i took the time to get cleaned up good is still good and clean. It has been neglected a little this summer and it isnt going to get any deep attention for a few weeks still : / Kinda curious to see what it will look like in a few weeks when i get back to give it some love. Going to be out of town for back to back to back lake-trip/work/family. I better up my game though looking to keep up with you in the upcoming growouts, or at least good enough to talk trash the whole time LOL.

I love fishing, but this trip is more leasure and watersports. My brother and i may take an evening on kayaks and see what hits, maybe take my 3 year old with, we'll see. You a fisherman as well?

I don’t really have any experience with fishing. My brother is going this Sunday, and I might tag along.

I think 3 year old toddlers might be my favorite age for kids. They are little people. Very cute and their personalities really start showing.

Oh yeah, 3 is a great age! Starting to be able to be a little independent but still want to stay close. Everything is new, even though they did it last year, and they have the vocabulary to tell you all about it :)

But this happened, was on a course up the mountain and had an unexpected natural hazard wander onto the green.
