60D70C1D-BB13-4C56-B073-F5F8C8E00DF6.jpeg Bad lighting so I am sorry got the tank on the cabinet. I have some hesitation on how sturdy the cabinet is but I guess they did their homework and it’s sturdy enough. Electrician is done changed the plugs in the room to GFI and changed the house over from fuses to breakers.

Now the question is where do I go from here this is kinda overwhelming but I’m not giving up. I got to do a leak down on the tank to see if it has any cracks. Then after that I’ll test the plumbing. I can’t do both because I haven’t decided on a pump yet still looking around.

Okay parts are ordered to plumb the pump. Now I am looking a thing two things.

1) lighting I am looking at the A360x think of using 4 of them. Any reviews or input on these lights. Also I don't want the goose neck mounts I want something sleeker.

2) the skimmer I am looking at the Reef Octopus Regal 200INT any input on this?

Not much of a development here. I am currently working on my aquascape and will be posting pictures later to here and to the aquascape discussions for more input. I just ordered my Skimmer I went with the Reef Octopus Regal 200INT for my tank. Still trying to decide on my lighting I am wanting to just do LEDs but the amount people are telling me to put on the tank is crazy. So I am starting to think about a t5 hybrid but I don't really want a big hybrid fixture hanging over my tank.

I have a picture of the whole thing then one of the left, right and center. I also have a picture of the side view of each side. The green tape on the wall is the top of my tank. I still have plenty of rock left over so let me know if you see any available upgrades.

So I am hard plumbing my return pump but I keep ending up with the pump suspended off the ground in my sump. Measurements keep being off by very small amounts causing the pump to sit suspended.

thats one of the reasons why I've always used some sort of flex line between the pump and the tank. Easier to get it fitted, helps reduce vibration sound.
For PVC, I always measure inside the pipe fitting to make sure there is enough room. My plumbing skills are C+ at best, and there always seems to be something slightly off despite my best efforts.

Have you considered using some sort of riser mat to prop the pump up?

So on to my next problem. I hooked up my RODI unit from #BRS It is a 7 stage unit 200GPD the problem I have is I am only getting 35PSI. The unit is around 10ft away from the water supply I don’t know if this is what is causing the problem or not. The next question I have is I am getting a hissing noise out of the flow vavle on top. Could that be one of the causes of lost pressure?

You might want to buy a water pressure test gauge, disconnect your RODI unit, then connect the test gauge to your water supply pipe. If it's below 50 PSI, you might need to invest in a RODI booster pump. See this video for details:

i have a 6 stage ro/do 200 GPH unit. it is an aqua RX.

i got it from a reseller who got it from a small LFS that closed. it needs a booster pump, it runs at 35 PSI right now. Even straight out of the hose bib (that is the kind of connection it came with).

I imagine you will need a booster pump as well. Really, it seems all RO/DI units need booster pumps to run most efficiently. That is why many like Melevs reefs RO/DI systems as they all come with a booster pump.

Thank you. Yes I looked on #BRS and the booster pump kit is out of stock just waiting on it to come back in stock then I am going to buy it. Till then its slow a steady wins the race.

So Rock is curing in a 55 gallon Brute trash can. It is about 100 lbs of aqua maxxx and 60 lbs of Tonga I got alll of it dry but I still decided to cure it to be on the safe side. I am happy I did it is leaching a serious amount of phosphates. So it looks like it’s gonna be a lot of time and water changes till it’s ready to go into the tank.

how's everything coming along?

question:
did you use red sea part # R42221 to get the hard plumbing for your return? I am not sure that fits on the 750XXL or not?
