Hi everyone, so I'm starting to decide what I want invert wise to keep the tank clean.

What does everyone have in their tanks, how many of what, and what would you recommend for a 24 gallon nano?

I have blue leg hermits, 1 or 2 emerald crabs, 2 skunk cleaners, and various types of snails. I keep more snails as they do not pick at the corals if they get overly hungry LOL. I also have a sand shifter start to keep the sand clean, as well as, a fighing conch.

They do a pretty good job overall. My tangs pick up any algae the crabs or snails miss.

My 24 gallon has the following CUC:
3 "red tooth snails" (sold to me like this, never found a true ID)
5 nass snails
3 hermits
1 Skunk Cleaner
Tons of amphipods and brittlestars

The snails dont bother the corals and do a fine job. The snails take care of everything else, along with my pods and white stars. The cleaner shrimp is hard to keep from stealing food from corals in the tank as soon as I take my hand out of it.

stick away from hermits they'll eat the snails but get a mix of all the snails because they all have little quirks that do little things

get some empty shells for the hermits. im sure the only reason they are killing your snails, or for the shell
