The only location I found good for Reef Engery was the trash. Caused too many issues with algae, cyano and dinos.

Sounds like you didnt need any extra nutrients or anything. These products were originally made for tanks that run very low nutrient levels or ultra low. If you have readable nutrients in the tank then there isn’t much of a point.

I used Red Sea A&B for a while and got to thinking I dont need carbs... [snip]

That's what I say every day for myself. Agreed it raises phosphates. Not sure my plan. The colors do look better though.

No my no3 and po4 were nearly bottomed out, the reason why I was feeding it. All it did was cause algae, jump started and fueled dinos.
