I have a question. I bought 3 Vipar Spectra V165 lights for the tank im setting up. I am custom building a canopy. How high above the water ahould the lights be mounted? I see 8" but i wasn't sure. Tha ks in advance below is the link to the lights.

I have the same lights and I'm 13 inches off the water. If I remember correctly, 12-14 inches is what was recommended to reduce/eliminate spotlighting. I think you could go lower and still be OK.
