which SSD form factor is needed for a Pi?

Any you can plug in to a USB 2/3 case. I use the 2.5. Be careful some of the cheap one doesn’t work with the pi.

Yep. It is actually less performance than the high end SD but the benefits are higher than the performance loss. I actually never noticed but I know it is lower according to the tests I have looked.

Did you try adding a fake piece of equipment for the "Chiller" setting on temperature controller?

If you can't get it working easiest solution is to go back to 4.3, you can use the upgrade in admin tab. Make sure to power cycle the Pi after you do that. Then delete all your temperature sensors and add them back. That should sort it out.

Once v5.1 is released you can update again.

That is exactly how I got it to work, added chiller to a plug that wasn't even a plug lol, then made the temp for the chiller to kick on at like 120 degrees and blam, now controls my heaters again. Is this a bug for raspberry pi 4's?

Guys, with reef-pi is possible to trigger custom "actions" based on "any" sensor data ? In example, power on the chiller outlet if ph reading is 34, then dose 20ml with dosing pump3 and shutdown the heater.

Should be possible. The actions can be grouped as a single macro which is then triggered by ph module

It’s a UI bug that saves the empty equipment target for chiller as ‘nothing’ in 5.0 release. It’s fixed in master and will be released in 5.1

Hi everyone , I have just released 5.1. It has three minor bug fixes
- temperature controller ui was saving wrong details when target equipment was not specified
- dli web switch driver authentication bug (thank you @dmolavi for the patch )
- light changes was taking 15 seconds to take effect after update
Release builds can be found in usual location:
https://github.com/reef-pi/reef-pi/releases/tag/5.14.0 or above user can upgrade straight from UI. There was no breaking changes .

There are discussions on this in recent times, but nothing concrete yet. We have an open source peristaltic pump design(3D printed parts and nema23 stepper) , contributed by a community member and other smaller bits that we have to assemble, and do end to end testing .

I already deleted and recreated the ATO but same results.

can you refresh and check if theres any usage graph present? this sounds like a minor UI bug(ato id is not being set correctly.. hence the undefined), but im not able to reproduce yet,,

Did the refresh several times. Waited a long time refresh. Same results.

Apologies if this is covered in this huge 889 page thread, but I’ve been toying with the idea of playing around with reef-pi and don’t know what I need to start with.

One of the problems is that the Raspberry Pi seems almost impossible to get hold of. What is the current recommendations as to which versions are best, what will work for a simple controller, and where are you buying from?

The Pi 4 seems overkill and I’m worried about the heat. Pi 3 is out of stock almost everywhere. The Pi zero 2w is in stock in one store that I’ve found but I’m not sure how suitable that is.

I run one setup on the Pi Zero.. The 2w would be just fine.

5.1. I've deleted ato and added back an ato. Let it run for a while and get graph data. Still same error when trying to reset ato.

Can't reset any ato.

Funny you say that , originally it was not there , but that created confusion during the December to January transition and I had to update code to include year.
this is very simple visual change that we can always change, it’s more about the user experience we have to settle in. I’m open for suggestions
