yesterday had some great highs but also a low... i am going to need to ship the tank back to Planet Aquariums next Wednesday. I was so excited when the tank arrived, i triple checked every inch of the glass to make sure there weren't any scratches or chips and all was good.... until i got home and a light bulb turned on and i remembered i ordered the tank with inside corner protection. Long story short they forgot to add the inside corner protection and now next Tuesday night i will have to get my friends out again to load the tank back up and take it to Houston (1 hour drive) so that PA can pick it up and fix it. A little disappointing but at least they are going to fix it. Hopefully it wont take to long to get back to me. After this Friday i have a month off and was really looking forward to getting the tank installed.

I feel your pain, delays out of your control are very frustrating!!!
Yes they are, I was real frustrated and kind of down..... then I thought to myself, with all the bad **** going on in the world and this is my biggest concern then I'm doing ok... so I got over it pretty quick. I will just start working on skinning the stand and building the canopy while I wait.

Oooh that stinks, but it’s better that you wait and get exactly what you want. The stand looks great though. What is the purpose of the armored seams and how long was the wait once you ordered and took delivery?

The purpose of the inside corner protection is that they will install a strip of pvc over the silicone to protect it when you clean the glass with a scraper, the blade on the scraper will hit the pvc strip. Throuought the years of cleaning the glass eventually you start to damage the silicone corner and with this you won't have to worry about that. The time from placing the order to delivery was 6 weeks.... we'll probably going to be total of eight weeks now with the delay.

So in preparation of the upgrade in a couple of weeks, I moved my 180g to the foyer. I set up a temporary 300g tub in my living room and transferred all the rock and coral to it. Then I lifted the tank and stand on furniture dollies. I lifted the tank on the dollies with heavy duty farm jacks then pushed the tank into place.

Got my tank loaded back up on a U-Haul trailer, going to drop off at LFS tomorrow so it can go back to Planet Aquariums to get the corner protection installed.

So today was a long day. I drove 1 hr today to my LFS to drop off the tank to be send back to Planet Aquariums . Well after waiting 4 hours the LFS gets an e-mail saying the delivery truck broke down and that they wouldn’t be able to pick up the tank today. So now I’m stuck with a U-Haul cargo trailer and a tank that I can’t offload. So I guess now I will have to go back home and get friends to help me offload the tank and have to go through the trouble of loading it and driving to Houston again. I could leave it at the LFS but their door isn’t big enough to put the tank in..... well after some calls to other LFS’ someone allowed us to leave the tank at their store so it can be picked up in a few days... what a mess. I guess things could be worse, for example this car caught on fire about 50ft from my truck when I was waiting for tank to be picked up.

I know the build is going slow but that’s ok. Slow and steady. The stand has finally been finished. Welded in some gussets and some tabs to mount some electrical drawers and the back panel. Tomorrow it’s going to the shop to get powder coated.

I find the metal fabricating piece to be hugely impressive.

Just ordered this GEO CR612x2 in grey and red to replace my current blue and white calcium reactor. Should look great with the grey and red drain/return lines.

Added two new outlets with dedicated breaker. Replaced another outlet with a GFCI outlet. Still need to add a cover with two ro/di connections on the left side to make it look clean.

Cut some 3/4” plywood to put under the tank and under my sump. Added a 1” lip on the base under the sump to collect any SMALL spills/leaks. Tomorrow I will finish sealing and painting the 1” lip.
