I have a 36" cube 30" deep with a kessil A500x and 2 hydra 26's. I was wanting to add something else and like the look of the reefbrite xho-x series. But would all my existing lights fit? Thats how I have it at the min. Would the existing lights fit like that within the reefbrite unit.
The XHOs mount to the light itself so on this arrangement it looks Ike you have space to do two reefbrites - one kit on each hydra - which would fill the gaps between lights and add one bar on either end. Or you could get the kit for the kessil and it’ll just have one on either side filling in the gaps in the center. I f you mounted them opposite so it runs perpendicular, you’d have to do it on the kessil in the middle but It definitely looks like you have enough space.
I have the K15 version. They only stick out about 3 inches from the light and are just under 11 inches wide.
Contact Joy at Reefbrite. She is very responsive and will answer your questions. I believe the 36” X series has 2 cross braces. You may need an additional one for the 500x in the middle. Either way, I would still contact Reefbrite to make sure the hole alignments on the cross brace qill work with the 500x.
Per the Premium Aquatics product description…
36″ model includes enough light brackets to mount
4 – Kessil A360
2 -AP9X or AP700
2 – Ecotech XR30 or XR15
2 – AI Hydra 26, 32, 52, or 64
The optimal mounting height for reefbrites is around 9”. How high do you have your lights mounted? If it is around 15”, check out orphek or3 bars instead.
Yeah I think I'm leaning towards something else now, I have just seen the price of the quad ones with 4 light bars and it's overpriced imo considering a t5 hybrid is like 300 - 400 and the difference is negligible between a t5 bulb and their strip and considering my hanging height. I could look at the orphek but what drew me to the t5 hybrid and the reefbrite was the easy mounting. Saying that an orphek light bar on eitherside of the kessil would probably work.
