TDS after DI is 0.

Time to fill up the tank and test for water tightness for 12 hours thereafter. If all is well then, I will be adding salt to 18ppm and Dr Tim’s “one and only” bacteria, hope to start cycling in 2020. Wish me luck!

Last post for 2020. Mounted the 2xEB6 to the back of the dry side of the cabinet, along with the DELTEC 80W UV.

Finally filled up the tank with RO/DI

On to the sump via the ATS.

Happy New Year!

Added salt and sand just as Dr Tim’s ordered. But not starting the cycle till Monday when the cloud from the sand settled.

One thing would I would have done better is to raise the height of the ATS, because the salt splash is quite high, also better footing for the 2 X TUNZE ECO CHIC REFUGIUM LED. I might just do another one out of acrylic, after observing the current one for couple of months. Other than the height, ATS is taking well to the flow from COR 20 at max.

Let’s see if it clears with the clarifier sachets included in the Caribsea Special Grade.

I used that way back on my old 150 , it will work to clarify but it also sticks the sand dust to every surface including internally on pipes, in my experiences.

If I had known that before, I would skip it. Thanks for the head up.

The tank water did clear up...BUT my sump is covered in grime, it sticks to everything, pipes, overflow, pumps, etc. Just hope that my UV given enough flow will not be smothered in grime, because I don't intend to revisit the UV till it's time to replace the bulb, i.e. 1 year.

Found some time and space in the dry cabinet’s soffit to sneak in the G5 PRO bars... right between the tank base and the pipes!

Great build thread, just wondering what you did with the mounting of the Neptune AFS - can you post a picture as I am thinking of do something similar but upside down.
Thanks! I’ve been using the following “acrylic” tape with success for the past decade on inert surfaces such as glass and metal. My power transformer “bricks” of my XR15 G5 are taped to the underside of the tank too. Works well with under heat too. Another good alternative is 3M VHB. I did however put a small clear acrylic as a filler/spacer for the AFS to adhere on. BUT I wouldn’t recommend hang anything of power using adhesive tape over water though.
