Major problem!!!
I came in today and my ato had dumped the rest of it's water into the tank.(I had very little top off water left or it could have been really bad)
The water level in the sump had not changed but the level in the tank was high
So either I have a pump that is not holding a constant speed or my ato is going bad. I doubt its my ato as it has been flawless Tunze Osmolator 3155.
I am thinking its the pump not holding a constant speed as its a cheap pump
Amazon product ASIN B0971VDQ2MI got it cause it had the right size barbs for my hose and was cheap- I know dont skimp on the return pump
My Tank is the Nyos 440 g2
Recommended flow is 525gph

A high water level in the tank could mean the drain line is compromised somehow, OR if there is a valve inline it needs to be opened up some.
If the sump level did not change then why did the ATO go on?
Check the sensor on it & clean it.

Has the tank been running long? I see a valve on what looks to be the drain. May need to tweak that. As far as returns pumps on a budget I have 3 jebao DCP pumps and they have been great and very quite. I'm running a dcp 15000, 5000, and a 3500. They're cheap enough I have backups for each.

I have the vavle tweaked perfect as this happened before and I thought it was the filter socks so I ran without them.
Tank is 4 months old

Tank
Snail in the overflow or return lines? Are the return teeth getting overgrown or partially plugged with growth?
Poltergeists?
All is clear as the sytem is really young at 4 months

Clean the teeth on the over both sides. It may not look like it is compromised but even a little algae build up can cause this.
I did that and they are clean but did it anyway. It can't be a siphon cause I have the top off return above the container.
All I know to do is leave the ato off and measure how much it rises or lowers in the sump return chamber.
I cut the pump down 1 watt and that took the tank down to a normal amount in the display.

Your ATO isn't the problem at all. Some way, somehow your display is not draining right. Your return pump shouldn't be pushing more water then your drain can handle. If you are running a full siphon drain you should have an emergency drain to keep your display from overflowing. Snail or algae, something is clogging the drain but your ATO did exactly what it is supposed to do.

Yeah I found the problem and its the pump so gonna order this one if it's big enough Amazon product ASIN B09HV9GYV

My ato was overfilling and it turned out to have a siphon as I was putting top off in sump and had enough siphon to drain top off reservoir

Hope the new pump does the trick!

Is that your ato line going into sump? I notice your ato reservoir is now empty to same level as sump. That’s exactly what mine did. Or maybe that’s where you keep your ato level I notice blue tape there.

Again hope the pump does it.

Yeah I was using the tape as a marker and I have no clue what pump to get cause the Sicce 3.0 doesn't have enough head pressure.

Okay I don't trust this pump and need a real solid dc pump that's way better and can handle my tanks needs
-525gph per tank manufacturer
-have the right size barbs for my tubing not sure what size the hose is but it's from the plumbing kit with the tank Nyos opus 440

I use a cor-20.

I have to tweak my downvalve every few weeks, its an art, doesn't seem to stay the same for more than 2-3 weeks at a time.... and I know it needs tweaking because my tank starts to become noisy.
