I have a 5'x2' ~150g tank that has been running for about 2 1/2 years. I have struggled over that time with many different fish issues to the point that the tank has only contained a one spot fox face for the past 9-12 months. I just got frustrated to the point that I have not done anything else with the tank.

I am now ready to try again and stock the tank. I had bad luck with ordering fish online and we don't have a local fish store where I live so I am going to drive out of town to a large store to purchase fish. For this reason I am going to buy several fish at once. Also I want to add 2-3 tangs so I think I am better off adding at once.

Here is what I am thinking for this tank but I am open to other suggestions...

Foxface (in tank currently)

2-3 Tangs...

Bristletooth
Yellow Tang
Maybe one other but not sure. If I added a 3rd it would likely be a convict

Question here is would 3 spread aggression better than 2?

Other fish I am considering....

Clownfish or maybe a pair
5-7 blue/green chromis
sand goby

Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Do you have a quarantine tank?

Do you have a way to split the tank otherwise?

I do have a 15 gallon tank I can use for
QT but I don’t plan to QT this first stocking. I also don’t really have a good way to split the tank.

If I was adding multiple fish at once, then I would make sure I had a way to split them up if something goes wrong.

QT would be best since it allows you isolate the sick/injured fish. Barrier would be good too, in case its just aggression.

Your risk is adding multiple fish and then having something take them all out.
