Hello! I just recently finished installing my RO buddie/ 4 stage RODI - I flushed the carbon, and membrane prior to use and everything is running well ( 0 TDS ) my only concern is the amount of waste water… I know that’s an odd thing to fuss about but hear me out… I recently replaced my old unit with the (same brand/ same exact unit) and the waste water was a lot compared to what it is now, my old unit would have a steady flow of waste water and now compared to the new one…. I’m maybe getting one small single drop, every 5/10 seconds? The “clean” zero TDS water going into my collection bucket is trickling at a good rate but my question is- is that normal for there to be such little waste water? Just feels odd lol

The PSI coming from my supply is rated for 100psi, the supply water is also cold… the amount of waste water compared to my old unit just feels odd? Any opinions would be appreciated, thanks!

(Ps: I was a noob when I first installed my old unit… I believed I didn’t flush the membrane/carbon properly… maybe that affected the amount of waste water?)

I've been using it for a few years, there is a lot of waste water. If your only getting a drop every 5-10 seconds, I think something is wrong. But I have no idea what it could be sorry.

You were right! I fixed it! Unknowingly to me I decided to use my old valve and I think it was clogged up.. swapped it for the new one and BOOM! Steady waste water flow ! :D

Probably prematurely wore the system out cause I ran it like that for a couple hours… but lesson learned
