dude. I have never even thought about making your own rock. It looks frickin awesome. Nice work

Yeah it looks like some extra work but totally worth it by the time your finished you have the exact shape and size rock that you need.

Rockinreef, have you ever thought to incorporate holes for frag plugs?

i only do holes when the person specifies he wants it in the rock, but i ussaully make them with out, and glue my frags to them.

i had a idea, made one rock, and thought, hmmm wonder if anybody would be interested in buying this rock, so i posted it in a for sale thread and within an hour i had like 30 people messaging me can i make them rock. who would have thought.

Using egg crate for the base structure of your frag rack is smart.

Quick question, do you use rock salt in your rock to make it porous? If not, are you worried about the rock not containing enough life?

no i dont use rock salt, that just makes it too brittle. not really worried about not having enough life. the rocks have plenty of crevices and is porus, which holds plenty of life.

I would rather err on the side of less porous. I would be afraid not only of the rock crumbling, but also it becoming a nutrient trap.

well i added buffer to water to have ph at 8.3 and now have a cloudy tank, using diatom filter to polish the water.

Nice looking stuff like others though what's your ingredients to your mix how much to what its like looking at pictures in a beautiful cook book without a recipe (spelling? Haha)
