Cleaned out the algae reactor for the second time. Not as much growth as the first time, but still working well. I turned the light strip up to full about 2 months ago. Noticed the cheto was a lot lighter green this time. I think the lights were to high, turned them back down to 2/3. I put a quarter of the mass back in (allready cut off the mass in the photo).
Also added the two green clown gobies and high fin banded to the dt tonight after their two week copper treatment.

I'm not sure why I haven't pulled the trigger on the pistol shrimp/goby combo. Yours look amazing!

My sps are not holding their color in my tank. They are growing slowly but seem to brown out in my tank. They also do not open up anywhere near what they were at the shop. Alk 8.25 cal 450 mag 1300 and stable. I dose alk on the hour and cal on the half. What else could be causing this reaction. Light are sb reef blue at 60% white at 20%. Flow is ice gyre running 80% on 4 alternating patterns throughout the day.

My lights were at 10% white and 50% blue. Turned them up to 20% white and 60% blue. I will give it a few weeks and see if we get some color. Also 0 nitrate tested.

Bad news, velvet again. Not sure if it was left over from the first time or came in on something but all the fish are in qt copper. Still have to catch the high fin.

Man, that stinks. :(

How long did you leave the tank fallow for?

We went 76 days, but I think it may have survived feeding on a fish corps in the rocks. Or this is a new case.
Likely a new case if it is Velvet. Interestingly enough, the parasites will leave a dead host prior to being fully developed and will not attach to a dead host. Stinks that you have to go through this.

It happens, good news all the fish have survived so far and are looking much better. They have been in theriputic copper for a few days now and had a freshwater dip. I think I will give them a 30 min med bath this week to fight infection as the recover.

Interestingly it was the green clown gobie that first showed signs both times I have had it. Not sure if they are highly suseptable?

I would have thought they would be less susceptible as a species. Your specific gobie may have a slightly weakened immune system which is why he is the first to show symptoms.

77 day Fallow is over! Fish have been copper treated for over 3 weeks at full dose and show no signs of illness, and are back in the tank. All other tanks in the house have been shut down and all equipment has been extensively cleaned. We added a few new corals from the frag show in Tulsa, Dipped them multiple times. And a new crown leather from or lfs. Also added another ice cap 3k for flow, now we have 2.
