Just finished off the enclosure for my water mixing station. Been a long process, with the basic unit up since May. Only just fitted off the chiller and completed the timber enclosure to give the chiller some protection from the elements.

Wanted to share..Blains Farm & Fleet has FREE SHIPPING, until 12/17/18, on the Norwesco Water Storage Tanks they carry. I just purchased 2 of the 65 gallon vertical tanks, for $129.99 each. Same tank online & local $199.99.

No aeration, no heating and no mixing is really best. Just mix and keep it sealed between uses.

(Fresh-mixed is actually best. Mixed seawater stores for about a week before the vitamins go bad. The rest should be fine "forever".)[/QUO
I have 2 75gal containers one for my fresh water n one for my salt water. They are filled with my ro/di line that runs from my laundry room into the garage. Each tank has a hose that will reach each aquarium to be filled. They are mixed by the pumps that circulate the water.

What is on the end of your hard plumbing on the hoses? Some sort of diffuser?

@Rachid Stoury did you add a new bulkhead to the bottom of the storage tanks? Haven’t see that before but it’s an interesting idea to make sure you get all the water out of the tanks.
I sure did ha. And whats, i have my Vectra L1 turning that water around at high speed and the salt mix is pretty much ready in minutes from a mix stand point. Because I have it all sucked out of the bottom and shooting back up top. I also have two PH in there shotting downward towards the base to make sure all the salt is quickly dissolved.

you guys and your fancy stuff. I use a 55 gal brute trash can. When I need to make some I run my temporary RO/DI line to it and fill it up. Then drop in an old powerhead and a cheap cheap heater.....add salt and wait. Taaadaaa. Saltwater. I do all this in the kitchen as well.

One pump, bunch of valves all piped into drain allows me to pump old water out of tank... pump in fresh... pump in salt. I spent as much on the mixing station as I did on my tank.

Hi everyone! I have a large 50 gallon baffel like Don showed below. I have had it for over 5 months and I really need to clean this thing :(. What are some of your methods of cleaning out these really large containers when the entry is so dang small. I will post a picture of my setup shortly but I only have one 50 gallon drum but I'm not considering two after reading this thread. For now, let me know what you think is the best way to clean this thing. This is my first official post on R2R so looking forward to the responses.
Here is a short video of the setup.

There’s only a heater in the mixing container. I cut off the plug to fit through the cord grip. The RODI container has an Eheim universal pump to run the faucet and to add lesser quantities of RODI through a Loc-line spray bar that is aimed at the walls of the container.

Please excuse the door! lol, I will be adding a new door and I still need to do a little more wire management on my #50 gallon saltwater mixing station and my 6 stages RODI with a Dual Membrane along with my Aquatech booster pump.
Its coming along real nice and I am about to finally after 2 years start hard plumbing my new Custom RIMless SCA 150. I still need to do some painting and I still have to run 1 more 6 ft raceway track across the side wall which is not in the picture. It runs back to where my RODI is hooked up.
When its all said and done, you will not able to see any a single wite, or any tubing what so ever, since I am OCD like that! LOL..... I am in the process of setting up my new tank since I have finally got in my new Synergy CL-44 Sump.
Feel free to following along on my SCA 150 build thread:

@csund - on your mixing station you did a really nice job and I really like your containers! Let me ask you a question, was there any reason why you are running 1 #WYE CHECK VALVE?
I know what they are used for since I run two of them on each of my returns, on my SCA 150. I just never saw one on a mixing station. Also, how do you like your @AVAST Marine Barrel tender?

One last question on attachment 2, what plumbing did you use in order to create a water spicket? What d you do just heat up some 3/4'' SCH 80 PVC pipe and bent it for a nice and easy access??
