This tank is taller than me!!

I think it would look cool to have a really tall scape like a tree in that.

Thinking we are going to try some things we've never done before in this new CADE system. I really like the look of the white glass on the bottom so probably going to go barebottom on this tank. Also might include a refugium which I've never done before.

Which all sounds crazy in theory since I also have two other very new tanks that aren't exactly stable yet either but why not!?

Took some PAR readings of the IM 150 this weekend and was kind of surprised by the results. For some reason I assumed things would be much higher but the highest point of the rockwork is only at 300 par at the highest point of the day.

now I'm even more curious about why my Oregon tort bleached out last week.

My phosphates are still too low while my nitrates are too high.

Picked up a second kessil extension bar for the 50g anemone tank. First time since I set this tank up that the light has actually been in the center of the tank. Finally got rid of the weird shadows I was getting from the light being directly over the returns.

This tank is also struggling with a serious case of LARS (lazy butt reefer syndrome). I do automatic water changes on this tank so I'm never stirring up the sand bed and obviously I need to. I let it go for a while thinking it would balance itself out but it's gotten to the point I need to do something. I wonder if I can add a conch or something to help out in between cleanings.

This week not much has really gotten done on any of the tanks. Had to have Austin take me to the emergency room in the middle of the night Wednesday with severe abdominal pain. Turns out I've got a 6mm kidney stone that I still need to pass. I'm home now with lots of good meds and trying to drink as much water as possible, but still kinda hurting too much to be very productive.

Drink 8oz of concentrated lemon juice. It will help the stone pass. I would do it every 8 hrs if you can.
It helps to disolve the sharp edges and the stone passes much easier.
I drink it once a month as it helps dislove the stones long term.
Have not had one in 5 years.

I've been drinking water with a bit of lemon juice added to it, but not the straight lemon juice.... I'm not sure I could so that..

This is my first experience with them and its awful

I would vote conch, and some cerith snails, trocus, Asternia snails.

Ended up back in the hospital, this time ended up getting admitted and a stent placed in one of my kidneys. 4 days in the hospital is way too long.

the tanks seemed to handle it OK. Lots of cyano...lost my Milka stylo... think we lost a chromis.

Im still really struggling with what to do with my yellow watchman, Frank. I'm getting very close to being ready to break down my 30g tank , I've got most everything moved over into either the new cade or one of the other tanks.... but I keep second guessing myself on where to put Frank and Bucky(pistol shrimp).

My options are;

A) 50g bubble tip anemone tank wirh pair of maroon clowns and porcelain crab. Crushed coral substrate.

Substrate and flow levels are perfect for Frank and Bucky and super close to what they are in now..... but I'm terrified that the maroons are going to kill frank... he's a bit shy. ...also not sure if the pistol shrimp will bother my porcelain crab

B) 150g mixed reef tank with decent community of fush but no one overly aggressive....special grade reef sand for substrate. Not idea ideal for them to build a burrow with, but doable I think.

Concern with this tank is that it already has a pretty chunky good size diamond goby ... not sure if they are compatible together. Diamond is about 3 times the size of Frank the YW.

C) 60g cade cube, high flow tank with large size calcium reactor media. Really no place to burrow, and I think the flow is really too high.

D) build Frank and Bucky their very own tank even though I really didn't want to keep up with 4 tanks, I have an available 10g waterbox cube I could put back on my bedside

The cade got fish in November of last year, water about July, snails somewhere in between.

Pair of clowns are the only fish inhabitants still, lots of snails, and a small army of emerald crabs since I managed to bring in bubble algae from somewhere.

Saw you were local, decided to check out your thread. Saw you also have a cade, might be stuck w/ me. Sorry not sorry.

The soft corals in the 150 are all doing really well. I need to get some better pictures but everything has been finally starting to grow a bit. I did start carbon dosing for the first time in that system, I just take can’t seem to get a handle on my nutrient levels. I’m still siphoning out massive amounts of GHA every weekend

I feel like the majority of my posts involve some random injury or medical issue …… but I managed to shatter 3 bones in my right foot and now I’m moving around on a knee scooter with external fixation pins in place for the next 6 weeks. Surgery was last Tuesday and recovery is going well but my mobility is very limited. According to my husband and children I am not allowed to climb a ladder to do water changes at the moment, so they have been helping a lot.

We did finally splurge on a series of utility pumps and hoses that now allow me to do water changes without the need for buckets, and a couple of 30g brute trash cans so I can premix and store plenty of rodi and salt water.

I can’t get up the ladder to really siphon the substrate out effectively, but I can at least change water by just plugging things in

Praying for a speedy and full recovery.

Came home from work today to find a lot of polyp extension happening in the CADE tank on so many frags that I really thought were close to dying off entirely. Not really certain which of my last ditch efforts was successful but I'm happy. Last weekend I had pulled everything out and cut off the dead parts that were white from STN and dipped everything in a kcl dip and glued them back down hoping for the best

Tried out the new Organo-MS test from the ICP company Oceamo, I regularly get ICP tests from them so I decided to see what this new test could show. I chose to test my CADE tank since it’s the one having the most trouble lately.
