Hello,

I've recently begun my saltwater endeavor (after many years with FW) with lots of help from this forum, just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm OBA (@oaklandbayaqua) and am currently building out a 10G UNS 30T with Icecap Reef 15 sump (custom overflow based on Eschulits design). Hope to share my build thread soon!

OBA welcome to the reef. I discovered this forum as it seemed to always come up when I googled a question. Finally joined, then chose to become a supporting member and later a partner member to keep the forum available for others to come. My wife @Ocean_Queenie and I started culturing copepods and phytoplankton eventually selling some on here as a hobbyist. Eventually we decided to try to make a career out of it so we are now sponsors as well. I love the Reef2Reef community here and the wealth of knowledge. Thanks for joining us.

Welcome to R2R! It is a great place to learn a lot about the hobby. Make sure you consider coral growth and cleaning the glass while making your rock scape. 1lb of rock per gallon is a very loose recommendation on how much rock to have. It matters in what coral you want or what you like the look to be. Try to think and plan for long term so you have less problems along the way.

Thank you! I'll be taking this entire column of rock out at some point next year to transfer it to a larger system, this tank was mostly to get myself accustomed to managing a reef tank. I think there is about 12lbs in the DT.
welcome to R2R
make sure you leave room for glass cleaning on the inside
Of course, I have room to clean all 4 sides. Thanks!
