If these two pieces were one an the same species, and had been sitting here in the same place, side-by-side over time, should I expect them to look identical?

It's my Red Planet on the right, and a so far unknown small frag on the left. It used to look much more like the planet.

I would think that even that small difference in location could play a role in them looking slightly different. I'm no expert on this though, so we can call in [HASHTAG]#reefsquad[/HASHTAG] for more help.

I would say that those are two different Acros.Unless they were taken from the same mother.Have you noticed any aggression between them?

I have not noticed any aggression, and at one point, albeit very briefly, they were touching. I think I may make them touch again, and watch.

Will two different acros not fight? I mean, will the lack of aggression mean they are definitely the same?

I have two RP that look wildly different, from the same colony. One is yellow/white in the flesh with red polyps and the other is a typical looking RP. I hope the yellow stays because it looks really good.

I have found that different Acros will usually fight it out.Sometimes they will get along fine with no obvious sighs of aggression. So if they get along, they may still be different types.

I noticed the yellow coloration too.It is lovely!

The one on the left simply looks "bleached". Like it discharged some of its zooxanthellae. Probably got stressed for some reason. In time it will probably recover, or change color.

I should add, the smaller piece was sold to me as a "Dippin Dots", but it sure looks like a RP to me and some SPS folks in my club.
