Sandy or bare bottoms?

While diving I've swam over reef for hours without seeing sand, just rock and coral. On the flip I've seen nothing but sand for hours if we miss the drop site :D The natural look argument is all relative.

Anywho, boils down to personal preference; both work, both must be cleaned. My office reef is BB, no stability issues here.
