SCA 50 PNP basic sump questions

(IMO) I would let the plumbing dry a day to fully cure and air out, also depending on your situation it may take a while for you to produce 50+ gallons of RO/DI water. Timing isn't unreasonable, just make sure not to rush it so you don't have to pull it apart or start messing with it right away. That being said if it will take you anywhere near 24hrs or more to make all your water then you can start that while the plumbing is airing out/curing.
As for the light I'm not sure whether that's sufficient or not. I'm sure it will do fine for the time being but you may want to upgrade if you want corals.

Good points. The RODI unit I bought says 100gpd but I'm sure the 100gpd is in an ideal situation. My GH is around 210 ppm but don't have my TDS probe yet to check my TDS levels. I will try to be patient. I already told myself the tank is going to take 4 to 6 weeks to cycle. I bought something by Dr Tims,T I think it's called one and only. Supposedly it brings the cycle down to a few days but I'm not counting on it. I've got ammonia chloride for my ammonia source. Thank you for all the help. Do you recommend any type of coating/treatment for the stand or just use it as is? It will be the grey plywood stand.

I'm going to use my stand the way it came, seems to have a nice thick coat on it inside and out. Dr. Tims will work for ya. Here's a great study and experiment about those products from another member here.

I'm starting to think about getting a Tunze Osmalater 3155 ATO system. Since my stand is grey wood and so is our kitchen table I am thinking about going with a grey cabinet. We are actually already wanting to get one next to the aquarium to replace a table that is there now.


Any reason something like this will not work? I'm thinking about taking out the middle shelf. The dimensions look like it may be enough room for a 20 gallon Long aquarium that I already have but I think it will just be a little too small as the dimensions shown are the outside dimensions.

PS. I am trying to make the aquarium as kid safe as possible as we have a 18 month old daughter. All cabinets and drawers will be baby proofed. I'm thinking a cabinet will be good as she will not be able to access the water line going behind the cabinet to the sump.
