Stunning tank.
One question about the calcium reactor and media.
You changed out the media once for TLF.
I guess it worked but was it so different to the previous media? Longer lasting? Better coral results?

Honestly i didn’t see much, if any difference. I ended up buying the 50lb box of reborn media. I go through it so fast, it’s convenient having a huge box of the stuff.

I had the 624, just upgraded to the 818. (They don’t make an 824).

Do you notice anything different about mine?? He just came out with a new design.

I bought mine in person from Serder in Reefapalooza Orlando . He changed designs after that again ?

Regards,
Abhishek

Here my 818, from 2 years ago.
Seems diameter has changed a bit !?

The pipe no longer goes in through the lid, it goes in from the side. Dont think it’s supposed to change performance, its supposed to make maintenance a bit easier. Whenever you need to refill the reactor with media, you don’t have to take the piping apart.

Now I see ! Must have made that change in the last 2-3 months . Sounds like maintenance on larger models will bebreeze as you said .

I don’t run the controller. I actually bought it and it’s sitting in my shed, I never ended up hooking it up. Normally for a 36” tank I would say 2 XHOs would be better, but 2 MHs and 4 T5s is a lot of light already. I don’t know if you really need 2. It will probably look more uniform, but it already sounds like your light setup is enough for your size tank.
Yeah I got plenty of light but I was going to replace the T5s with the RB in hopes of more pop. I can't make up my mind.

It’s becoming harder and harder to take decent pics of my corals. They are growing right to the top of the water, and I don’t have room with my light fixtures to get my camera at a good angle. This is the best I could do.

@SchnitzelReef - This is reefing on a different level all together . People show multi colored rainbow frags but what you have demonstrated here takes years of hard work ! i have seen many amazing reefs but not many can come close to this matured beauty !

If you ever decide to sell a few frags - I am very interested in the Somewhere Over The Rainbow , Sapphire Millepora and Jared's Tricolor Prostrata ..

Abhishek

Definitely some great photos bud!

How are you liking the new reactor? I’ve been thinking of upgrading as my old one keeps getting clogged up.

If you ever decide to ship I’d love to get a few pieces from you as well.

I love the new reactor. Having such a big one will cut down on maintenance, which allows me to enjoy the hobby that much more. Win win for me. Geo really makes some great products. The new design with the pipe going into the side of the reactor is a nice improvement. I also really like the Sicce pumps as well. Very quiet and efficient.
