Yesterday i noticed my long spine urchin up against my scoly for a while and as with anything kept an eye on it. It had significant tissue damage so i dipped it in coral rx and fed it lps pellets.
the dead tissue is gone but the skeleton is showing. I just ordered iodine as a backup if the coral rx will not be enough. (It has been all ive needed in the past with micromussa, elegance corals and hammers) is the first time i have dealt with something like this with the scoly. Is there anything i should know based on the pictures? Much appreciated stay safe. :)

I don't believe Coral Rx is used for coral injuries. I think it is only really useful to remove pests from corals. The iodine dips are for damaged corals. You can get a bottle from Walmart for around $2...I believe it is the 10% concentration.

I'd dip in iodine (at time of injury or if tissue damage seems present) and then just monitor it closely for further tissue recession.

I would definitely do an iodine dip. It doesnt appear to be too much of a damage to it.
Could easily just come back after a good dip.

I had this happy to a brain coral a few years back and after about a week I could never tell it was even dammaged
