Scolymolia has air bubble in it!

Well.. My scolymolia has a big air bubble in it. No idea how this happened as it has not been exposed to air.

What do I do?!?

Is this a normal part of splitting? I have had it for 10+ years and got it when it was pretty big so I imagine it is VERY old.

Is this not normal and I will have to preform air bubble surgery? I tried putting the scoly upside down with the bubble under the mouth to force the air bubble out the mouth and it seemed like it worked but the bubble came back. I don't want to continue trying to get the bubble out if I know this is normal part of the corals growth.

Could use some help here! No idea what to do.

I have come to the conclusion it is definitely not skeletal formation and most likely an air bubble. I have been trying to push the bubble towards the mouth with some success. Also I place the coral in a sloped position so the bubble is under the mouth thus possibly forcing the air out.

What does it look like at night? Does it have a feeding response? I’d imagine when it opens at night, something will force it to push it out. But it looks healthy, so I wouldn’t try forcing it or anything, may damage the tissue or the skeleton.

It has been feeding and opening absolutely fine this whole time. I think the bubble has been in it for a while and I was just not noticing because it is only blatantly visible when the coral closes up. I am pretty sure the air bubble forced its way out after some gentle manipulation and tilting the coral. I believe I have successfully burped a coral :-) Pictures to come.. If the air bubble comes back that will be interesting.
