Soooo I was watching my tank for a little bit while I was on my computer next to it and I noticed my pincushion sea urchin expelling tiny coco puffs from the back side of him. This is definitely a silly question, but I just want to make sure he is ok and that it's normal. I literally have never seen an urchin poop before, I honestly didn't even know they did lol. Thank you!

I think so. They should look like little pellets coming out the top hole from my understanding (and hat I have seen my urchins do lol)
That's exactly what happened lol

Does the poop contain any beneficial properties for the reef? Like feedings corals?

Seen mine pooping today, does this class as amonia/waste? is it better to remove as much as possible or leave? If it's just algae poop surly it's a good poop? IMG20230414162534.jpg IMG20230414162524.jpg IMG20230414162448.jpg IMG20230414162513.jpg IMG20230414162341.jpg IMG20230414161737.jpg

Whoa I haven’t seen that yet. Now I have something new to look for. I have 2 urchins that came in on live rock as babies. It’s been cooling watching them grow and explore the tank little by little.
