COVID QT shot. I don’t QT my fish as much any more but this tank has been in QT for months! Some death along the way (non covid) for most of my tenuis frags, don’t know why? But all else seems great.

Since adding the 6500k GE starcoat T5s, and running lower N and P levels, I’ve noticed better colors. I do think higher N and P levels may have done some of my acros in, but the colors I’m pulling now are great! Just some tank shots, no closer shots

I am starting to remove 85-90% of my sand and I’m loving it. Sand goby can’t spit sand on my colonies anymore, which in part, I feel contributed to some TN of my colonies’ inner structures.

all I gots are night shots cuz covid got me playing daddy daycare all day!

Oh man I love all the branching acros!!! Is the green stag with pink tips on the left side a abrohlosensis? I can’t wait for top down daylight shots. I had the same experience when my nutrients were high. I lost some of the sensitive stuff and a few stressed out slowly. I love the fact that you added these ge bulbs. If you can share the difference your seeing in coloration it would be so helpful. There are a lot of reefers that could benifit from using more white light and only our (people on this board) experiences will help show others what’s possible. Keep up the good work!

Looking good! Do you have a bonsai colony? I was thinking about picking up a frag from my lfs for $50 but I’ve only really seen macro shots of them. The frag already encrusted over the whole plug and has about 5-6 branches so it seems like a good deal.

Oh, hi. Just some tenuis shots.
Well... this one isn’t a tenuis, but it’s colors are great. Real blue growth tips and corallites, green body with red polyps. She’s fine!

RR Angry Birds. Acquired in a trade. Was told it was RRU, as the person I got it from got it from a member here who got it from Cornbred. Idk. I guess I’ll have to see: blue/purple tips with a light green body, pink corallites and Bi colored polyps

RR Pretty in Pink. Glows in person.

No namer RED tenuis. MC is very different than a CB, which came after this piece. Mother colony is red with red polyps. Really cool.

my third attempt at JF HW. She’s a keeper!

RRA Orange Passion, getting some of the orange hues back to the polyps.

my second Achilles heel: RMF Lucky Charms. First one fried. Second one almost fried but recovering, this one is magically delicious!

A local reefer’s “signature piece”: Pink Nutz. Peachy, orangey, light pinkish corallites with pink polyps. VERY different than a Cherry Bomb. Excited for this piece.

supposedly a TGC Cherry Bomb, but me thinks it’s better. Greenish hue to body, Bi colored yellow transition to red polyps. This one looks super special!

Absolutely gorgeous sticks and nice photo skills as well. Sorry to learn about two losses on HW, but I hear of that so frequently. Has kept me away from them to date.

It puzzles me how I can keep several dozen acros in my system for years and then one morning one of them starts with RTN or STN. Frag it up quickly and save maybe half. Then go months and months before it happens again.

Is this a common experience for you too? More often than not I have no explanation.

Thanks scott. I like nighttime photos the best, but yes they’re always blue...
HW is finicky but my first one I grew into a decently sized colony. I blame its demise on elevated levels of PO4. In fact, I lost half colonies of Tyree Pink Lemonade, SSC, TGC Blue Planet Tenuis, Spainbow, a few others due to what I feel is from elevated PO4... in my tank. Once it’s brought to 0.10 it’s all good again. At one point, I elevated PO4 so quickly because I was feeding half sheets of nori daily. Tangs loved it, but it jumped up close to 0.50! again It’s just my tank.

im at the point in my tank where colonies are shading themselves and others, I am lazy go trim them so some die off is from that too. I was only able to save a couple colonies from fragging them up, like RC poison envy, or by leaving them alone, Tyree PL, and have no explanation other than PO4.

Taking the high road huh?? You were supposed to take a jab at all the tiny nubs I have. I guess there’s a first for everything
