Flow has been given me fits. In finally figured it out. I pointed on one side slightly down. This prevent the crashing of the two gyres. They aren't quiet synced.
That is why I love gyre style pumps. You can rotate the cages to get a wide span of flow here or there. When setting mine up, I always use a woodstone at the return to blow microbubbles through the tank. This allows me to see what is going where and how it interacts. It also scrubs the tanka little lol.

Thats the plan for this weekend. I don't have a Woodstone I do have a couple of airstones.

that works too. especially if you lay them right under the inlet of the return. The return chops up the bubbles pretty good anyways.

Whats funny is I did this years ago and I mean years ago to setup a bunch of Tunze pumps. I noticed how much better the rocks looked after doing it and how quickly one of leathers finished shedding. Not becuase of the flow, but the bubbles bieng through around like a wave crash or something. I still scrub all of my tanks every 3 days. Even the BC32 lol. Nothing seems affected by it in a bad way, but rocks are always clean, sand is always white in the tanks that have sand and the BB tank collects less detritus.

If flame in the nem tank, I would probably try to buy it from you.
I'm not to upset about it. It's still In a tank I see on a regular bases. My bosses tank is a place where I can grow things out.

Thursday I get a call from a buddy he is moving 3 hrs away and can't keep his tank. 60lbs of rock now in my brute with the rock from the 120. Approx 120 lbs or rock.
He had two fish left in the 55 and a brittle star. A coral beauty and a clown. All love stock went into bosses tank.
The clown I knew maybe an issue and it was. If that clown would have stayed on the right side of the tank with the nems i doubt there would have been a problem. Nope went over to the pair and they weren't having it. I removed the clown Friday morning and budy gave it to the lfs.
One of the peices of rock was a gnarly arch. It fixed a stability issue I was having. It was like it was made just for my tank. A perfect fit.

I'm not sure Elsa is going to make it. She was fine last night ate like normal was swimming normal.
This morning she is swimming erratically. now her swimming is not erratic but normal patterns and like she normally does except she is upside down and in her nems.
