Thanks Parker!! Will be lit up tonight with a temporary solution. Going to be so cool.

I’ve considered keeping it as it is, it’s almost like an underwater zen garden. However I will 100% change that and add life within a couple days lol.

Currently lit up with a nicrew 50w for the mangrove. I think I’m going to use a nicrew for the coral as well. Honestly they have really nice colour.

Update time!!

I found majano in the 120 so I’ve added two filefish.

I also finally added some clean up crew to the mangrove lagoon, as well as a diamond goby to sift the sand

Looking at lights this week for the lagoon so i can add some coral, leaning towards some cheap amazon options. I think im leaning towards running the 120 solely as a soft coral tank... we shall see.

Hadn’t scraped glass in 4+ weeks. Added 25 astrea, 10 trochus, and a diamond goby. The first life in the lagoon.

Here are two photos. The first as they were added and 48 hours later. Incredibly impressive change to the glass and sand.

Okay one more update on the UNS 60CS Mangrove Lagoon and then I’ll do an R120 update. The photo below is basically how the tank has looked for over a month.

No light, No coral, wrong flow, and lots of algae/cyano.

I finally did something about it. Changed up the positioning of the wavemaker and added a light (nicrew 150w). Once that was done I added some macro algae, a clam, and some of my coral from the R120.

Needless to say, the tank is finally looking how I pictured it.

I decided I’m not a big fan of the halimeda and I’m going to replace that with another clam and add a bit more coral today. Stay tuned.

Big update time!

I removed the biggest rock structure in the middle of my tank. I designed that structure for sps and clearly have gone a different direction.

I’m a softie guy and now this tank is a softie tank! Once I removed the rock completely moved things around and went with a classic old school rock wall! It looks like the tanks of old that I fell in love with.

I also added some fresh sand to give it a real new tank feel.

Here’s some photos of the process. Will snap a pic when the dust settles.

Very nice tank! I am running some
Dalula pixels and I love them! How do you like the X4s?
I love the spread and colour. The app is super easy to use as well and in the 2 years I’ve had them I’ve never had connection issues. I also really like the reef realism setting, it’s a fun little add on.

I am trying to decide on what lighting to go with for my 3’ x 2’ x 2’ tank. I think I would need two X4’s for a LPS and softie tank. It’s a pricey option compared to other good options.

Been dealing with cyano issues in the lagoon and on the sand bed of the R120.

I tested my nutrients and they are sky high and I’m sure it’s due to my pretty large fish load. Having said that, I need to step up my nutrient export system.

Water changes are the quick fix for sure, just need to get my butt in gear.
