Should I be upset or complain?

This is exactly why I no longer purchase coral online. When everything around the coral is purple including the white frag plug it tells me the colors are not accurate, I don't care what lighting is being used. Also when I see coral cut and pasted on a total black background I just leave the site.
I forgot about the total black background in my "rant", I also will not buy a coral from a vendor that does this.

I rotated the pictures,it looks close in shape to the WSIWYG but key differences in protrutions and markings. see highlight. even the rock it's attached to looks different, unless it's the angle of the shot.

Rotating picture isn't quite accurate as the angle is still different but it is the same coral. Plus the green image is extended more. I did highlight same patterning though that would be unique.

Tidal gardens have jawbreaker photos under 3 lighting conditions:
https://tidalgardens.com/wysiwyg-jawbreaker-discosoma-mushroom.htmlNone of them looks green. What was sold to you is something else.
This is what mine look like under 6000K.

Yellow is a much more sought after color in the hobby, and reefers pay premium for that. If the coral you received is not obviously yellow - it's not worth the premium. I would ask at least a partial refund.
@Queen City Corals these photo tricks is how you lose your customer trust.

I'm kinda skeptical because of the rock that it's on that's mounted to the frag plug look nowhere near similar. As for how they take their pictures, it's pretty shady to say the least and should also have a picture of what it will look like under normal lighting conditions so the consumer has both pictures and can't complain about it not being the same color as the pictures. I don't buy from vendors that just post pics under blue lights.

Peeps, pleas be a bit nice for stores. It's very intensive to post multiple pic's and lightning.

I shoot these kind of pics, and the cost in hours is immense. Stores almost have to add 25% to the price for a few decent pics. And people want WYSIWYG so we can't use the same image for different corals. We want individual pics.

When you have been in the hobby for years you know things can look seriously different in different lightning. This topic example is just te best example. I am sure we can show it as yellow with certain lightning, but we can also turn is green with different lightning.

@KrisReef is right and I have been there to. In my country we have a shop with lightning that is amazing. Time after time I have been disappointed at home. I now know how to look at it and interpret what I see.
So even in RealLife shopping you are going to get this. This is not a webshop or online problem.

Let's not shoot down a shop for this. The shop has done nothing wrong here. They shoot a pic under their lightning so it is wat it is... without magic.

If you're saying that taking a good photo adds 25% to the retail price, then I would expect you to spend 6x the time shooting a $300 as compared to a $50 coral. If that were true, this topic wouldn't exist.
$300 coral is probably above the 95 percentile of coral prices, it's high-end. The store must ensure they represent their product as close to reality as possible.

Misadvertising products is wrong, no matter how hard their business is.

I would not say they did nothing wrong. They labeled it as Yellow and unless its in their lighting and with their camera settings its green. That is not correct and they know it.

I think this is actually being nice. Posting pictures for comparison is absolutely something that should be done to verify

Spending time to take pictures means you make sure it looks the exact same as how you see it in person. It will not always be perfect and can be difficult but yellow and green are completely different colorations. I have never seen a yellow or even orange coral look green in any kind of lighting and the same for green. I have never seen a green coral look any other color unless the image was altered heavily no matter the lighting.

This has become more and more prevalent in online stores. Some actually use same filtering so it's consistent across the board with the alterations.

Further more, yellow is a primary color. This means no other color can be blendid to get this. More blue lights which is what they said they were doing should make it appear more green and white coloration would make it seem more yellow.

This is a perfect example explaining the issue here and a good read.

Are you guys seriously passing this off as lighting?

This is a marketing scheme to get unsuspecting customers to spend money on something fake. Plain and simple.

This is a case of over saturating a picture to make it appear yellow when in fact it's green just to make a sale.

I don't understand the need to defend sellers that do this. Giving them the benefit of the doubt is one thing but clearly overlooking the obvious is another.

Queen City Corals needs to be held accountable and not allow this sort of thing to continue.

To the OP, yes, you should be upset, and you should be complaining.

Yup, and that's why I also posted the link because it shows you have to do some crazy camera filtering or editing to get green to yellow or vice versa. Lighting doesn't do this only filtering and/or editing.

I understand some lighting artistic liberties to make the color "pop" but this is clearly not a yellow mushroom, I would not be happy.
Not saying I will never buy online, but I save the big purchases for frag shows or LFS purchases. This should not happen. Just my $0.02

They look to be the same by the marks. So I would say they sent the same coral but I think more then just tank lightning is involved in this. In my opinion the photo is looks edited to bring out the yellow. Just to much change in it to be taken under " reef lightning ".

Look at the coral itself and especially the rock that it's on that is mounted to the frag plug, they're all completely different.

Oh absolutely. I already was able to identify it is the same based on unique markings. Definitely photo play was at hand. There is a slight hint of yellow on edges very very slight. I think they ran with that to edit color more.

It's 2 different angles and they have both have same identical unique markings if you go back a page I believe... I have circled in blue same identifiable markings on same location. The green image is also open more.

Same plug, different angles. There's no doubt in my mind this is the same coral. Only difference is the OP doesn't possess the skills to manipulate the colors in post to bring out the yellow.
