Should I be upset or complain?

People saying the rock doesn't look the same, rock looks exactly the same to me... just different angle...

Careful buying coral online, this type of crap happens a lot. "yellow hammers" are often also green.

It is still a nice coral but more a $150-$180

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback with us. We truly value your input and want to take a moment to address your concerns regarding the image representation of the coral you received.

First, we want to assure you that we strive for transparency and accuracy in all our product images. The coral images on our website are captured using a Canon camera with a macro lens under a 20K blue spectrum lighting setup, which is standard in the aquarium industry for showcasing corals. This lighting enhances the natural fluorescence and coloration of the coral, which is how it would appear under similar blue-spectrum lighting in a reef tank. The photo you took is clearly under a more white daylight spectrum so would make any yellow color appear more green.

However, we understand that the appearance of the coral can vary significantly under different lighting conditions, such as the white light you used to capture your attached photo. White light tends to reveal more of the coral's natural pigmentation without the fluorescence that blue light accentuates. This difference in lighting is likely why the coral appears differently in your photo compared to the image on our website.

Regarding the title mentioning "yellow," we apologize if this caused any confusion. The coloration of corals can be subjective and influenced by various factors, including lighting, water parameters, and individual perception. We aim to provide descriptions that reflect the coral's appearance under the lighting conditions we use for photography.

The correct response is “I’m so sorry that you feel misled. We will rectify this immediately. Please email or PM us.”

But what you said is “We are scammers. Don’t buy from us.”

Thanks for the warning.

Hey guys I purchased this mushroom from Queen City Corals and just received it. I was expecting a red spattered yellow jawbreaker mushroom from them. But instead received a green eclectus jawbreaker. Although the green eclectus isn't horrible. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I felt kind of deceived. Reason being that the stock photo which was a wysiwyg picture clearly showed and stated in the title, "red spatter yellow jawbreaker mushroom". So the title and the pictures were both false statements. The coral I received is the same as the picture on their site. But their picture was heavily edited to show a yellow jawbreaker. What do you guys think? I attached their stock photo and the photo I took a day after I received it. View attachment 4025188 View attachment 4025190

I do agree he got the same mushroom. But it was heavily edited. I still wouldn’t pay $150. Diyreefer sells what was pictured or close for half that usually. Depends on size.

Same plug, different angles. There's no doubt in my mind this is the same coral. Only difference is the OP doesn't possess the skills to manipulate the colors in post to bring out the yellow.
Nope, easy to tell by looking at the lines on the plugs and the rock. Not the same at all.

It's 2 different angles and they have both have same identical unique markings if you go back a page I believe... I have circled in blue same identifiable markings on same location. The green image is also open more.

It's not, look at the plug and the rock. They aren't the same. Sorry.

100% the same coral. Because of angle the plug/rock look a little different but they are not. It is the same.
Post 40 solidified it for me the person posting was saying its different or might be angle the markings on the rock are the same same plug too this is same frag.

Don't care about jawbreakers, but to get yellow fluorescence you need light between 450nm and 500nm, to put it simple blue(not royal blue) and cyan.
Are you sure it's not just different lighting?
What are your light settings and fixture?

The part that gets me is the title calling it a yellow jawbreaker. To have it named that there shouldn't be a huge swing of green to yellow under lights.
It's quite normal the swing from yellow to green in corals, yellow is a hard to get color and there is a thing that is relative spectrum. To show yellow corals for example I would not abuse royal blue, but I would crank up cool blues and cyan. To get very intense fluorescent green crank up royal blue. This is one reason yellows are hard to get, fixtures are designed for fluorescent greens and reds first.

That’s false advertisement, dispute the charge on your credit card.
I would at least give them the opportunity but do so in private first. But based on response prior they may have to go this route. But it gives them a chance and can also let others know they will correct or work with the person but they need to reach out first in order to know.

It's a different angle. If it's not please tell me how there is identical markings in the same location? Look at blue circle.

I can match more together if needed lol

Ya I wouldn't pay that either, just looked up market prices for them and it seemed they went for that on websites.

Similar, maybe. Identical? Doesn't look identical to me. Not to mention the size and shape of the rock it's attached to.

OP slap these on and dial up the blue and admire your new $300 coral. Trust me bro, It really is “yellow” OR…..

If you want the DIY pimp my tank version just save $8.08 and overlay that glass box with orangish acrylic for that “true” all over mellow dank yellow lol

The rock looks like that being they were taken in different positions if you look on page one.

But no 2 corals will have the same exact markings. It looks a little off because the photo in green, is more extended. I can map out each spot and will be exact same shapes. It's easy to think though and I understand.

I rotated the pictures,it looks close in shape to the WSIWYG but key differences in protrutions and markings. see highlight. even the rock it's attached to looks different, unless it's the angle of the shot.

It’s 100% the same coral. Here is a triangle mark on both the exact same. Markings near the edge will constantly be changing as it grows depending on how long they have had it after the photo was taken
