A video of my Magnifica in my Reefer 170:

And an updated one (my mocha gladiators were rehomed and I introduced one new davinci to pair with the existing davinci):

How have you guys been leveling your tanks since they have the rubber leveling feet built into the bottom of the stand? I'm setting up my reefer 250 and it need leveled slightly. Do you still use leveling shims? Let me know what you guys have done. Thanks! @Broadfield ?

Still working on the build...slowly coming together.

I do a lot of my work at night but in the light today I noticed that my stand has a small gap between the back board and one of the sides. The gap closes towards the bottom and at the top it is small but large enough to let some light through. Anyone else have this type of issue in their stand build where everything isn't perfectly flush? Worried about the structural integrity.
I had exactly the same thing on my stand. As the top board is perfect to the sides I figured that the panel you ate talking about is a tad too short.
I keep an eye out occasionally to make sure nothing has altered but 8 weeks in and the stand is solid.

My Reefer 250 sits on carpet, and even when it sat on tile in my previous place, I used the paint sticks from Home Depot to get it level and spread out the pressure of the tank onto a larger area. If you need, just a little bit, I'd use the resin shims so they don't get nasty when you spill a little bit of water.

Stock plumbing here. No need for so much fancy stuff as it just complicates things.

Same here. The main reason I got the Reefer was so I wouldn't have to deal with that.

I do have some 1/2" RO lines plumbed to a reactor and chiller, but otherwise the drain and return are stock.

Is anyone running a Red Sea Reefer 170 (or a similarly sized tank) without a refugium? How much harder is having no refugium?

I had an algae reactor hooked up (huge, AquaMaxx XL), but didn't need it. The chaeto all died out because the tank was running too lean. So no fuge. Pretty simple in the sump.

I used those round felt pads for furniture legs. You can find them at any Walmart or Home Depot.

@Jackooze[/USER] I have Turbo Aquatics ATS on my 170. Works great but takes up space so I’m very limited to the size of skimmer I can use. I thought about removing filter sock and installing it there because I’m not happy with this Simplicity 120 skimme

She saved me by getting me a replacement downspout to my fully stocked reefer in 24 hours when mine cracked!! She’s great.

Thats good... I was being sarcastic... I got my part in about 2 weeks... ordered it from marine and reef and had it in 3 days...
