Skimmer going crazy!!

I've just upgraded and added a second hand bubble magus curve 5, I fully cleaned it. Now it is over flowing and going crazy. There are fish in the tank with live rock so there is something to skim

Could be a break in period for that skimmer. Hopefully it will calm down in a day or so. Any other changes like replacing a sock, etc?

Is it sitting at the correct depth range for the skimmer. Can you raise it up or open the flow through the unit at all?

Brand new filter sock and new tank. It has calmed down today though a little

New socks would make the skimmer go crazy for a bit. Glad its calming down.
