I’m starting to plan out a small mixing station and looking to gather some ideas from what others have done. I’ve mostly seen larger set ups, but I don’t have the luxury of doing so being in an apartment. I’m hoping to fit something into a closet so it’s out of sight. Wondering if anyone here has smaller set ups for there smaller reefs that they could share for some inspiration!

I had a small area to work with as well and was able to create a 25 gallon mixing station/RODI storage area in a space about 21" x 21". Mine was next to my tank, but you could do something similar with a pump built into the stand in a closet space.

Brs 5 stage 75gpd rodi system and a 10 gallon brute trashcan from homedepot. Takes about 2 hours and its not to heavy i cant move it around but they also sell bases that have wheels. I plumbed the rodi into the washing machine supply line.

No pics yet, but I'm actually about to set up a smaller-scale mixing station very similar to the one dbl wrote up in the first post of his thread ... except I'll be using two 20g containers versus the 55g's he used (just ordered my 20g's this morning):

Since the 20g's have a foot print of 11" x 15" (31" high), it'll let me set up a small 22" L x 18" W x 40" H station in a corner of our laundry room.

Here you go: https://www.tank-depot.com/productdetails.aspx?part=A-SP0020-OM

Fair warning: the shipping costs are insane. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything similar in size or footprint anywhere online that had better shipping fees. And no one local to me carries anything big 55 g rain catchment barrels or 5g water jugs.

Still worth it IMO though. The way I see it, the time, effort and convenience the mixing station will save me over the years is still well worth the shipping.

Try Craigslist/Facebook market Place. I bought two 65gal. One for $40 from a guy moving, another for $50 from a flower/garden shop. Hope this helps.

I think you could do pretty well with a pair of 20g brute cans.

This is what I built, the 20 is on top. You can imagine that two 20s stacked would take up one side of a closet. I am not sure if the 20 fits on the wheeled dolly, I think it does, you could then push the bin (CAREFULLY) to your tank. I don't think the 10 will fit on their dolly, it requires notches in the base.

The nice thing about a gravity fed system is you can pull RODI water for whatever else you need to, like ATO or just rinsing stuff.
