Kessel arm mounts fit these, just a FYI for those rimmed tanks folks like me.

Did yours come with a remote? Both of mine did not have a remote, I contacted seller via Amazon and waiting to here back.

Both of mine came with remotes, sans some weird watch battery. I set up the timer and haven't touched it since so I didnt end up needing them really

Mine did not come with a remote either, but I purchased it directly from their website.

I am not seeing on their website anywhere to purchase the remote separately?

I have the remote that came with the light and have absolutely no plans on using it. Just as a general rule with modern reef lighting, treat it like you're using a basic timer and your corals will love you for it. Program you ramp time, color, etc and walk away. I'm not sure what the remote is capable of, but I set my light the day I got it and have only adjusted it once (color during peak time) since then.

I never tried to use the remotes.

The only problem I run into is they(Im running 2 lights) will come unsynced from each other every so often, and I power them off and back on. Then they sync back up. Thought about switching around which one is master and slave to see if it helps. Anyone else run into them unsyncing?>

Yeah this happens to me it seems like once a month. I'll catch it during the ramp down at night when one is almost off then the other is 100% bright. I do the same thing, switch the master and slave then switch it back and it syncs.

That's the only issue I've really had. Tank is going strong, both the algea and the coral, lol

Hey, all. I've had the 85W for quite a while. Any issues? Mine has worked well, and I have no complaints. Totally a set-and-forget light.

Thanks, and happy holidays!

Mine has been going strong since I put it over my nano. Definitely set and forget. I really like the shimmer and I run mine on the whiter side.
It’s been going since the beginning of September.

Just setting mine up for a 10g coral qt. Did you guys just do the timer mode or the dimmer section? Maybe I'm unclear on the settings. When I set up on timer mode I have the ramp up/duration/ramp down. All channels set to a percentage. I adjusted someone %s that I saw on this thread. I guess what I'm confused about is the brightness and dimmer options. Hope this makes sense lol!

I've got it up and running now. All is just set thru the timer screen with % of channels. I guess what I'm trying to ask is in the timer section where u set the % of ur channels, is that what controls the intensity of the actual light or merely the colors?

Yes, the % of each channel is the intensity.

Pretty decent shimmer actually. It ain't kessil but it ain't kessil. Kinda like the Red Sea led lights. Gotta say I'm pretty impressed with this thing for the price.

The shimmer is the best part of these little lights. I replaced my Viparspectra with these and the difference in shimmer is night and day!!!

How many of these Smat Farm lights for a 36" x 18" tank?
I'm guessing (1) isn't enough, but (2) is probably a bit overkill?

I have two on a 5 foot tank but will add another as soon as I have more corals.
I would get the one and see how your tank reacts, if needed, get the second.
At those prices you can afford to splurge a little if need be.
Good luck
