Does anybody know what kind of snails these are? I've had them for the past 2 years or so and while they don't do any harm the population seems to be growing. They only come out at night and they never get any bigger then maybe an 3/16 of an inch. Sometimes I'll see them on the glass in pairs too, almost as if they're breeding. Thanks. :)

They look very similar, but in the last two years or so I've never seen one get that big. I'm not really seeing the mottled pattern on the shell either. Just for comparison, here's a picture of some Collonista snails I pulled from one of my older tanks.

There's about 8 species of collonistas, but then there's a whole subfamily.

The collonistas's you have are different than mine. I have the tiny tiny variety.

Can you pop one of those in the first post closer to the camera?

I'll try, but this will have to be tomorrow. I got rid of all those snails in the first picture.

What exactly are you looking for?

Just so I could see the pattern of stripes/dots/dashes a little better. I honestly have no doubt they're from that family and harmless.
