i started with the np pellets from atb about a month ago and i have been moving ahead slowly with them but so far so good!!!!! my tank should be running about 1000ml of pellets when it is at full bore but over this first month i have added a 100ml on the initial dose and just added about 200ml more.....
all i can so far is wow!!!!! my pe has never been better" huge extension" but besides that i haven't really noticed any difference in color or anything else.... what should i be expecting and what have they done for you?????

Cool Troy, I hope it continues well for you! I'm soon to try it hopefully by the end of the week. I've heard others say it brings out sharper colors, polishes the water, and prevents kills algea, were the main 3 I heard about ofcourse with great polystyrene extension. Happy it's working well for you.

Thats Awesome Troy! Glad you are having such success with those. I am on the edge of deciding to use them or not. If all goes well for you then I may try. Tagging along!

I'm sure it might bring more Colors out down the road but right now I only have a small dose going...
I don't have any algae since I always dosed vodka and I have a big bad skimmer... I'm curiuos because longer polyp extension means a happier coral IMHO so I'm waiting to see what happens next!!!!1smile1

I'll be following you as I'm doing the same (ATB). Started about 3 weeks ago w/roughly 100ml as well. The only thing I noticed was my pH dropped to 7.3ish, but didn't affect anything at all. I really don't know how long I plan on running them as I never had any problems prior (other than my own fault).

Well a quick update.... I added about 200ml of more pellets to the reactor a few days ago and never exp. A bacterial bloom or anything but I noticed 3 different acros losing some flesh on the back side....:( I
Wonder if my nutrients have dropped and my alk is to high now... I know when you get to a ulns your suppose to keep the alk around 7 and last time I checked I was at 9....:(

If has only been a month I would't think the pellets could be the cause of it . Besides they react in a on demand fashion from what I understand . I am only a few weeks into using them . How many ml's are you up to now on the pellets ?Do you feed the same amount of food ? When was the last water change or carbon replacement ?

Hmmmm I'm up to about 300ml now... Last carbon change was like 3 weeks ago and my last water change was about 7 months ago... Ahahahahahah lol I'm lazy!!!!

Dang Troy . I would say 7 months is a bit over due . What were your last tests @ . I am @ 500 ml on a 70 . I got a bloom for about 30 minutes and then it went all clear . I am using the NP's new formula in a Next Reef SMR1 XL . I added Stability and MB7 to start with . R u using any kind of color coloration supp ? Koral Color or Zeospur2 ? . Like you said I woud check the dkh first .

I was never fan of changing water...:( booooo to much work lol... I always had problems doing weekly wc so I really neglected my tank one time and didn't change the water for like 3 months and my tank took off... Since then I have never dine much maybe a 20 percent change every 6 months or so...

Very interesting, I haven't ever been courageous enough to try any of these type of methods. I may have to give it a go if it works out well for you.

NOt sure if I would subscribe to the ramp up of the pellets. one thing to consider is they arent truly releasing anything into the water column, they are really just providing a place for the bacteria to colonize that is converted into a food source for the bacteria. normally it is 6 weeks to fully colonize. yes, watch those acro's. I am experiencing the samething. anything above 8.5 and i seem to get burnt tips on mine.

what exatly are these pellets i keep hearing about, what are they supost to do? i have a hard time adding anything to my tank when everything seems good the way it is

I have been running the pellets since end of June. I have run my alk in the 9-10 range with no issues. I run it at about 8-9 and seem to get better PE from my corals. I have never had an issue with burnt tips, rtn, stn while dosing vodka or running pellets. FWIW, I don't do water changes. I dose though. I have 500ml right now on my 135 gallon total system volume.

wiht these pellets you are supposed to start with like 100ml and then every couple week you just add some more or do you have to completely toss what is in there and tehn put fresh? I was just curious as I have been tempted to try these as well. Also I have a brs dual reactor would this be okay and also do these guys need to tumble?

HOW MUCH DOES A FISH’S FEEDING REQUIREMENTS AFFECT YOUR STOCKING DECISIONS?
